Intel Core i7-4930MX Extreme Edition (8M Cache, up to 3.90 GHz) launched in Q2'13 and brings desktop-class performance to high-end mobile and compact desktop systems.

The Intel Core i7 4930MX quad-core processor is part of the 4th Generation Intel® Core™ i7 X-series Extreme Edition family, built on Haswell 22 nm lithography and optimized for demanding workloads. With four physical cores and eight threads, the i7-4930MX delivers a 3.0 GHz base frequency and up to 3.9 GHz with Intel® Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 for bursts of extra power.

Engineered as a Tray package using the PGA946 socket, this processor supports dual-channel DDR3L memory at 1333 and 1600 MHz and up to 32 GB of system memory, providing a maximum memory bandwidth of 25.6 GB/s. The CPU includes an 8 MB Smart Cache to accelerate data access and reduce latency in multitasking and content-creation scenarios.

Graphics are integrated with Intel® HD Graphics 4600, offering a 400 MHz base frequency and a dynamic boost up to 1.35 GHz, support for up to three simultaneous displays and outputs including eDP, DisplayPort, HDMI and VGA. The integrated graphics provide hardware video decoding, Quick Sync Video, and support for modern media and presentation tasks.

Connectivity and expansion are supported by up to 16 PCI Express lanes (PCIe 3.0) with flexible configurations (1x16, 2x8, 1x8 + 2x4), making this CPU suitable for discrete GPU or multi-card setups in compact systems. With a Thermal Design Power (TDP) of 57 W and a maximum junction temperature of 100 °C, the i7-4930MX balances high performance with mobile thermal constraints. Note that this product is discontinued; it remains attractive for system rebuilds, performance laptops from the Haswell era, and specialized embedded or workstation applications.
