Intel Core Ultra 7 265KF arrives as a high-performance desktop processor launched in Q4'24, designed for gamers and creators who demand top-tier speed and AI acceleration.
This Intel Core Ultra (Series 2) CPU brings the Intel Core Ultra 7 family to the fore with the 265KF model, featuring the Arrow Lake architecture and stepping B0. The chip is offered in a boxed package (PCG 2020A) and carries ARK ID 241062 for reference.
Under the hood the processor delivers 20 cores and 20 threads, split into 8 performance cores and 12 efficient cores, with a total Smart Cache of 30 MB (L2: 36,864 KB). Base and boost frequencies are tuned for responsiveness, with a peak boost up to 5.5 GHz and performance-core boost to 5.4 GHz.
Memory and I/O support is modern and generous, with dual-channel DDR5 support up to 6400 MHz and up to 192 GB of RAM supported. The platform uses LGA 1851 (Socket V1), supports PCIe 4.0 and 5.0 with up to 24 lanes, and offers DMI Revision 4.0 with eight DMI lanes.
AI and acceleration features are major selling points: the processor includes an Intel AI Boost neural processor unit (NPU) with up to 13 TOPs and total processor AI performance up to 25 TOPs. It supports major AI frameworks such as DirectML, OpenVINO, Windows ML, ONNX RT and WebNN, and includes Windows Studio effects support and sparsity acceleration.
Power and thermals are engineered for desktop use, with a base power of 125 W and a maximum turbo power of 250 W, and a maximum operating temperature of 105 °C. Note that no cooler is included in the box, so a compatible cooling solution is required.
Use cases for the Intel Core Ultra 7 265KF include high-frame-rate gaming when paired with a discrete GPU, content creation workflows like video editing and 3D rendering that leverage the many cores and high boost clocks, and AI inference or on-device ML development using the integrated NPU and supported frameworks.
Key selling points include hybrid 20-core design, 5.5 GHz boost, DDR5-6400 support, strong AI acceleration, and advanced platform features such as Thunderbolt 4, Intel Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0, and comprehensive virtualization and security technologies.
