This 2nd Generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable processor (model 5217) is built on a 14 nm process and offers 8 cores and 16 threads with a base frequency of 3.0 GHz and a Turbo Boost up to 3.7 GHz, making it well suited for mixed workloads in virtualized and containerized environments.

The chip integrates 11 MB of Smart Cache and supports advanced instruction sets such as AVX‑512, delivering faster compute for data analytics, scientific computing and heavy integer workloads. It supports up to 1 TB of DDR4 memory across hexa-channel memory architecture at 2667 MHz and includes ECC support for data integrity in critical server applications.

With a TDP of 115 W and a Tcase of 79 °C, the processor balances performance and thermal characteristics for rack servers. It connects via the LGA 3647 (Socket P) and provides up to 48 PCIe 3.0 lanes, enabling high-throughput I/O and expansion for networking and storage adapters.
