Sennheiser MK 8 Microphone - Dual Membrane, Adjustable Polar Patterns

Sennheiser MK 8 Microphone - Dual Membrane, Adjustable Polar Patterns brings studio-grade versatility and German engineering to your recordings, offering reliable performance straight out of the box.

Designed as a professional studio microphone, the Sennheiser MK 8 features a dual membrane condenser capsule that delivers a wide frequency response from 20 to 20,000 Hz and an impressive dynamic range of 132 dB for clear, natural capture of vocals and instruments.

The microphone sensitivity is -37 dB (14.1 mV/Pa at 1 kHz) with an input impedance of 50 Ω and an equivalent noise level of 10 dB, ensuring low self-noise and accurate transient response. It requires standard 48 V phantom power and draws only 4.1 mA, making it compatible with most studio preamps and interfaces.

Physical build quality is evident in the MK 8’s metal body available in black or silver, weighing 485 g and measuring approximately 120 mm wide, 80 mm high and 260 mm deep with a 5.7 cm diameter capsule. The package includes a desktop stand for quick setup and desktop use.

Adjustable polar patterns let you tailor the pickup—ideal for solo vocal sessions, duet recordings, ensemble work, and close-miking instruments. The low equivalent noise and broad dynamic range are particularly beneficial for capturing quiet details as well as loud peaks without distortion.

Typical use cases include professional vocal tracking, podcasting, broadcast, acoustic instrument recording, and voice-over work. Its precise frequency response and condenser voice coil make it a strong choice for projects that demand clarity and nuance.

Manufactured in Germany, the MK 8 is built to studio standards and shipped with appropriate packaging (HS code 85181000). It operates reliably in typical studio temperatures between 0 and 40 °C and is supplied with stable desktop mounting for immediate use.
