HPE Xeon Silver 4310 Processor brings Intel's Ice Lake architecture to HPE servers, launched in Q2'21 to deliver balanced performance for modern data-center workloads.

This 3rd Generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable 4310 is a 12-core, 24-thread server CPU with a base frequency of 2.1 GHz and Intel® Turbo Boost up to 3.3 GHz, designed for dual-socket (2S) HPE platforms and LGA 4189 sockets.

Built on a 10 nm process, the processor features an 18 MB L3 cache and a 120 W TDP, offering efficient multi-threaded throughput while keeping thermal and power envelopes predictable for rack and blade deployments.

Memory and I/O capabilities are aimed at server use: octa-channel DDR4-SDRAM support up to 2667 MHz, a maximum internal memory capacity of 6 TB, ECC support, and up to 64 PCIe 4.0 lanes to service high-bandwidth storage and networking adapters.

Security and virtualization features include Intel® SGX (8 GB enclave), Intel® AES-NI, Intel® VT-x/VT-d, Intel® Trusted Execution Technology, Intel® Total Memory Encryption, and platform resilience features to harden sensitive workloads and virtualization environments.

Specialized instruction and acceleration support such as AVX-512, AVX2, AVX, SSE4.2, Intel® DL Boost, and two AVX-512 FMA units make the 4310 appropriate for vectorized compute tasks, inference workloads at the edge, and high-performance middleware.

Typical use cases include virtualized servers, database consolidation, web and application hosting, and compute nodes for analytics where a balance of cores, memory bandwidth, and security features are required. Note that the boxed package does not include a cooler.
