HPE 6252 Xeon-Gold (2nd Gen) - a high-performance server processor designed for demanding enterprise workloads.

The HPE - 6252 Xeon-Gold - 2nd Gen - 24-Core - Processor is an Intel® 2nd Generation Xeon® Scalable part (codename Cascade Lake) that brings 24 cores and 48 threads to modern servers and workstations. It operates at a 2.1 GHz base frequency and can boost up to 3.7 GHz to handle peak loads.

Built on a 14 nm process and belonging to the Intel Xeon Gold 6000 Series, this processor offers a generous 35.75 MB of L3 cache and supports advanced instruction sets including AVX-512, making it well-suited for virtualization, database processing, and heavy analytics.

Memory support is enterprise-grade with hex-channel DDR4-SDRAM compatibility at up to 2933 MHz and ECC support, allowing up to 1 TB of internal memory per socket. The chip supports UPI with three links and up to 48 PCIe 3.0 lanes, enabling flexible I/O and expansion for storage and networking.

Security and manageability features include Intel® AES-NI, Intel® Trusted Execution Technology, Intel® vPro™ eligibility, VT-x and VT-d virtualization support, and hardware Run Sure and VMD versions. Thermal and power characteristics are engineered for data-center use with a TDP of 150 W and Tcase of 86 °C; note that no cooler is included.

This processor fits LGA 3647 (Socket P) platforms and is scalable to 4-socket systems (4S), compatible with servers such as the HPE DL360 Gen10.
