This Intel 2nd Generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable processor (model 6240) runs at a base frequency of 2.6 GHz and can boost up to 3.9 GHz, delivering responsive single-threaded performance alongside strong multi-threaded throughput from its 18 cores and 36 threads.

Built on a 14 nm process and belonging to the Intel® Xeon® Gold 6000 Series, the CPU provides 24.75 MB of L3 cache and a Thermal Design Power (TDP) of 150 W, balancing sustained performance and thermal considerations for rack servers and workstations.

The processor supports hex a-channel DDR4 memory at up to 2933 MHz with up to 1 TB of addressable internal memory, includes ECC support and is compatible with Intel® Optane™ Memory modules. It is intended for LGA 3647 (Socket P) platforms and is compatible with systems such as the HPE DL360 Gen10.

With features such as AVX-512 instruction support, 48 PCIe 3.0 lanes, three UPI links, and 4-socket scalability (4S), the 6240 is engineered for virtualization, database, analytics and high-performance computing.
