Inkjet printers

An inkjet printer works by placing drops of ink onto the page it is printing on. Inkjet printers are the most common type of printer and are quicker to warm up and cheaper per page than their rivals. Epson have 44 inkjet printers currently on the market. Of these 44, 18 are multifunction.

A multifunction printer, also known as an all-in-one, allows you to scan images to your computer as well as photocopy documents using a flatbed, built in scanner. The Epson Stylus SX125 is the cheapest in the range and is ideal for small family use or for a student that needs to print documents or projects. It uses four individual ink cartridges, making it more cost effective because you only ever need to replace one cartridge at a time rather than the whole lot.

More upmarket inkjet printers that are designed for home use include the Epson Stylus SX218 which includes an LCD screen which allows you to choose photos to print without the need to view them on a computer. The printer, which scores highly in Epson printer reviews, also offers memory card slots meaning you can view photos to print directly off your camera’s memory card.

Another option for home users is wireless all-in-one printers. These models, such as the Epson Stylus 425W come with all the features of a standard home based printer but have the added bonus of wireless technology. Printers such as the Epson Stylus Photo PX650 produce stunning results by printing HD quality photos. If you are looking for a machine that prints only, a single function Epson printer would be the best one for you. These inkjet printers, of which there are six models, are often more compact than an all-in-one and also more affordable. The business single function printers are renowned for their speed.

Laser printers

Laser printers are more commonly found in offices to homes and are designed for quick printing of text and graphics rather than photographs. Again there are a wide range of products available with 40 printers on the market.

Like the inkjet range Epson offer a multifunction laser printer as well as a single function. Designed for offices, the eight multifunction Epson printers are very bulky and produce quick printing results while also allowing you to copy and scan multiple pages.
