Buying Guide - Samsung LED TVs

Overview

Samsung have classed their LED TV range as its ultimate experience in home entertainment and they offer basic entry-level models all the way up to the top of the range.

Samsung offer both LCD and LED TVs and the only difference in the two is that the LED models use light-emitting diodes as a back light instead of the fluorescent tubes on LCD TVs. This means that you will notice much brighter colours and more vibrant displays on LED TVs. Some are edge-lit, which means that a Samsung LED TV can be thinner than an LCD model, and this is perfect if you have a small room or want to attach it to the wall or ceiling.

Another big difference with an LED model is the improved efficiency they offer. They are around 30% more efficient than LCD TVs and if you are going to choose a bigger size TV screen then LEDs will save you even more money in the long run. However, LED technology makes them more expensive to buy than LCD models but prices are gradually coming down.

The entry level Samsung LED TV is the C4000. This is an ideal choice if you are working on a tight budget or looking for a compact LED TV for a bedroom. This range of TVs come HD ready – with 720p image quality – which is perfect for a small or medium sized TV.

If you are looking for a compact TV then you can find models that start from 22 inches. You may want to consider a bigger sized model if you are looking for a TV for your living room and the Samsung 32 LED TV is a popular choice. You can find an excellent range of 32 inch TVs in the Samsung Series 5 range and you will be able to find a Samsung 37 LED TV in this range as well – which would be better for a bigger sized room. This is an excellent size for a HD family TV and you can find models with up to four HDMI and 2 USB ports so you can connect up Blu-ray players, games consoles, media players and more.

Also, if you are going to buy a decent sized model, it is worth investing in a TV that has full HD capabilities. This will mean it will have clearer and sharper images with 1080p resolution quality.

And to really enjoy full HD you could consider a Samsung LED TV over 40 inches. This would bring a home cinema straight into your living room although you will need to be able to afford the top-end prices. The C5100 and C5800 are two of Samsung’s latest 40 inch models and they provide wireless internet sharing capabilities – so you can stream movies from your computer – and Freeview HD.

The latest models in Samsung’s LED range – the C8000 and C9000 – are both 46 inch screens with 3D image quality. In Samsung LED TV reviews both models scored extremely well and they can even upscale some of your 2D movies into 3d quality. The C9000 model is also one of the thinnest LED TVs in the world measuring less than 8mms.
