  2. Nikon D80 with 18 - 135mm Lens

Nikon D80 By STEVE ROBINSON (01/12/2007)
    • Pros: I can use all of my Nikon AF fit lenses
    • Cons: Inbuilt operating menu takes some getting used to

Being a relative novice/hobbyist when it comes to photography I did intend on buying one of the D40 products untill I discovered that my existing Nikon AF lenses were incompatible so I decided on the D80. I am glad I did.

For me the build quality is superb as is the battery life (on a single charge). Yes the inbuilt operating menu can be a little daunting at first but it allows you to start with ... Read Full Review »

  3. An excellent dSLR

    Nikon D80 By Anonymous (23/08/2007)
    • Pros: Build quality, responsiveness, handling, image quality with good lenses
    • Cons: The kit lense 18-135 isn't up to Nikon quality,

I've been a devoted Nikon user for over 35 years. I still have my first 35 SLR, and it's still working like an Omega watch. I'm very happy with my D80. I've had it for several months, and no complaints so far, except for the kit lens, which isn't really up to the Nikon quality I'm used to. I've read many reviews of this and comparable cameras, before deciding to go for... Read Full Review »

  4. My D80

Nikon D80 By BOb Powell (06/04/2007)
    • Pros: Its very easy to use.
    • Cons: NO cons

I recently purchased a Nikon D80 which\ I've found very easy to use. The only down fall is that I find the lens which is a 18 /70mm rather restrictive. Other than that \i find it to be an excellent camera. Read Full Review »

  5. Nikon's D80 and its 18-135mm lens

Nikon D80 By kevin mcgonigal (11/09/2006)
    • Pros: Not many except i can use my Nikkor AF lenses
    • Cons: The D70s handles better and the kit lens is junk.

I have used Nikons for many decades and have liked their product. I have two digital D50's and a D70s both of which are excellent and I can use my older AF lenses, especially the 35-70 2.8D. I have had excellent results. I have just purchased and used the new D80 and its kit lens the 18-135 mm. Yhe camera is ok. Yes, I get more megapixels and greater resolution but the body seems not quite the... Read Full Review »
