It's worth shopping around for this item.
I managed to save £200 of an original price which made me smile :-)
I use mine for PC (video playback and a home plasmanet channel) and Wii gaming, with a little bit of telly thrown in.
The quality of the screen output is fantastic for an LCD. Plasma is still better, but I chose this screen because:
a. there is less oportunity for screen burn on LCD.
b. this screen looks amazing, even when switched off.
c. I needed a 1080p screen to show off high resolution PC videos (does a good job of upscaling video)
d. price - I paid £707 delivered with an HDMI cable
Extra bonus features for me are
a. I get freeview reception with this unit (i'm not in a freeeview area and previous attempts at using a freeview box have failed)
b. picture in picture - we can view a video and someone can play Wii at the same time (using HDMI input)
Quality of playback - did I say that the display quality is good. What i mean is that the color looks vibrant and the depth of black colors is astounding. The shiny screen helps. If watching a movie, I leave a small lamp on in the room, which helps to mask the one limitation of this screen (i am a pedant in this area as I work with LCD and plasma displays) which is the black colors show a little of the backlight through in the corners. I am currently watching 24 on dvd and this shows up the limitation nicely.
You will not regret buying this screen, even though i would give the following recommendations:
a. it comes with a lint free cloth to wipe it - you will need it as it attracts dust.
b. power consumption - this unit uses 250watts when running and 38 watts even when in stand by / off mode (still plugged in with the mains on). I recommend using a remote power switch if you want to try and be green in using this.
In fact, if you start using a remote power switch like the Byron RS3 you'll be feeling extra smug about your new purchase.
