Acer a500 has ports ( USB, MINI USB , HDMI , MICRO SD ) which makes transfering files from one device to another as easy as plugging your USB flash drive in. unlike the ipad which needs you to sync to your computer to get to your files.

The tablet itself is a quality item. Upgraded to ICS over the air in the last month. Runs quick, feels well built and overall I'm happy with the device. The item I bought was listed as perfect working condition refurbished but the rear camera doesn't work. Just takes pictures of green blobs.

This tablet is great for the amount of money you pay. It has a Dual Core Tegra 2 processor that makes it one of the fastest tablets available (although slower than the iPad 2). This tablet can run graphically intense games, such as Dungeon Defenders, with no lag at all.

The screen graphics are very good, and the control system is very responsive - but can be fooled if a thumb holding the side of the screen rests on the screen. The protective case is very good, and makes holding the tablet even more commfortable and secure.

Short extract: Acer are renowned for their budget range of computers and notebooks and there has been many a smartphone we have reviewed in the past that has been inundated by memory zapping applications that slow the device down.

Summary: We take a bite out of the Iconia A500 tablet to see if it tastes like honey.

Short extract: Tablets are the latest must-have – sure, they can’t do what a laptop PC can, but nevertheless they offer all kinds of games and video options, as well as a choice from thousands of apps.

Summary: As fine as Honeycomb is, this is just too big and too expensive compared to rivals
Short extract: The Acer Iconia Tab A500 is the third Android Honeycomb tablet we’ve got to grips with here in Blighty. Currently our fave is Asus’ Eee Pad Transformer , thanks to its low price, ace screen and sensible software, but can its Taiwanese arch-rival outdo it?
Conclusion: At more than fifty quid over the Asus Eee Pad Transformer, we can’t help but feel that the Acer Iconia Tab A500 is something of a raw deal. It’s far too heavy and lacks the killer keyboard integration.

Summary: The Acer Iconia Tab A500 tablet is a relatively heavy hunk of plastic, but its Android 3.0 Honeycomb software is a treat. The A500 will be even more fun to use when Google makes it easier to find dedicated Honeycomb apps.

Conclusion: At the current prices, we reckon the Motorola Xoom has the edge on the Acer Iconia Tab A500. The Xoom costs about £30 more, but you'll get a sleeker-looking, lighter and slightly smaller tablet.
