Good Points
Great projector, first I've owned so a little hard to rate it as I've got nothing to compare it to.

It's quiet, light and connects via HDMI, USB and Scart. Doesn't need to be miles away from the screen to get a decent sized image as well. Coupled with the 5 year guarantee it's great.
Bad Points
The manufacturers site doesn't seem to be able to register the product for the guarantee. I've contacted them so hopefully this won't be a problem for much longer.

      8 out of 10

Summary: Can £800 really buy you a quality hi-def home cinema projector? According to bigscreen behemoth John Archer, indeed it can

Conclusion: Cue a reminder of the SP8600’s sub-£800 price – I expect issues like that at this price point. But I don’t expect a performance so rewarding. The InFocus is therefore a home cinema bargain of quite ridiculous proportions. Get in!

Pro : Good value and general picture quality; flexible picture settings; long warranty

Cons : Minor rainbowing; dark scenes can lack shadow detail

      9 out of 10

Summary: The InFocus ScreenPlay SP8600 is a quality projector for a budget price.

Conclusion: We've seen budget 1080p projectors before, but few are able to offer the level of quality and features required to go beyond mere resolution and deliver smooth life-like moving images. The InFocus SP8600 takes such tasks in its stride and is available...

Summary: Usually projectors that cost less than £800 are either aimed at the business/education markets or absolutely rubbish. And there can be no hiding place for shoddiness when you're watching a picture that's 100-inch wide or more.

Conclusion: The InFocus is therefore a home cinema bargain of quite ridiculous proportions. Get in!

Pro : Good value and general picture quality ; Flexible picture settings ; Long warranty

      10 out of 10

Summary: At a time where you can buy projectors for under £400, the £800 asking price of the InFocus SP8600 seems pretty high. Then again, this DLP projector has a lot to offer, and the image it's capable of producing actually makes it a bit of a bargain.

Conclusion: The InFocus SP8600 is an excellent projector for both home and office use – its stunning array of colours makes it perfect for movie use, with the 1800 Lumens brightness output making it equally ideal for presentations. It may not match LED projectors...

Pro : There's no doubt about it, the image is the thing that stands out the most about the InFocus SP8600. This DLP projector is capable of producing a full high-definition picture, and the 5,000:1 contrast ratio and six-segment colour wheel results in...

Cons : There's very little to dislike about the InFocus SP8600. It features an integrated speaker, but it's not really worth using unless you're desperate. The design of the projector is also a little uninspiring, but again we're nit-picking
