If you cannot afford the monthly cost of an iphone then the next best thing is certainly an ipod touch. It is a great product. You can use it for a wide range of things. Apps, photography, instant messaging with imessage and calling people with Skype or Facetime.
-
i make it short and simple.... if you have a lot of money buy the iphone and if you are low on money then go for this as it is the same thing but u dont have calling capabilities or 3G. iv had it for around 3 months and the last thing i do is use it for its music... and thats saying somthing.

Short extract:
The iPod touch is now even slimmer (7.2mm), comes with iOS 5, and supports iCloud – a neat way of accessing your music and photo stream from anywhere via the web. (See review overleaf.) The iMessage feature now lets you send messages over Wi-Fi too.
- Wafer-thin body; editable playlists; faster camera
- Scratches easily; no Siri voice-control; it’s still no iPhone
-
Short extract:
Apple 's iPod touch has had a radical makeover, with the fourth-generation Touch coming in the wake of the widely praised iPhone 4 and offering some of the same features. It is Apple's best iPod to date and can be considered a triple threat: a gaming console, multimedia player and internet device.
-
Summary:
With a faster CPU, Retina display and FaceTime, what's not to like?
- Good range of features, Impressive performance, Crisp sound quality
- Slow connection speed, Poor photo quality, Disappointing Game Center
-
Summary:
A high-resolution screen and video calling just made the best better, but we'd recommend an iPhone 4 if you can afford it.

-
Short extract:
For its latest iPod Touch, Apple has closed the gap between what its portable media player and iPhone 4 are capable of. In fact, it's pretty much fair to say that this time around the iPod touch is an iPhone without the phone capability.
Conclusion:
The latest iPod touch is an improvement all-round. With its incredible screen, built-in camera and amazing user interface, this is the best media player around.
