Good Points
A good, bright, crisp-clear picture. It took me a little experimentation to get things right, and I found that if your graphics card supports both mediums, plug in both hdmi and dvi cables - computing is better on the latter, but blu-ray playback is much better on hdmi. Worth noting that some of the things other reviewers have complained about were easily overcome after reading instructions - such as the need to sit at least arm's length from the screen to appreciate the 3d properly. Also, by default, the monitor runs an "enhance 3d colour mode" that adds to the quality of 3d blu-ray playback, but doesn't look great for standard computing - this is easily turned off from the front panel. I've had the monitor for a week now, and have used it for video play-back, games playing, and some 3d modelling (Lightwave and DAZ Studio) - I'm very happy with my choice.
Bad Points
All of these are minor niggles and certainly haven't made me regret choosing this model -
-No paper manual - it's all on disc in pdf format.
-Required some experimentation with settings to get the best picture quality.
-Good 3d effect only achieved in a limited position of view - no good for group watching as say, a family tv.
-Small computer text hard to read in 3d mode.

      8 out of 10

Summary: Finding content for a 3D television is like trying to find a decent pizza on the west coast. You just have to look too hard. The current selection of 3D Blu-ray discs mostly consists of post-processed garbage, Sony only offers a handful of 3D titles...

Conclusion: Above-average 2D performance makes the LG D2342P a reliable desktop companion, and passive 3D technology gives it a convincing and comfortable-to-watch 3D presentation, too.

Pro : Convincing 3D performance ; Passive glasses are inexpensive, comfortable ; Reasonably bright, even in 3D ; Respectable 2D performance

Cons : Flimsy stand with little adjustment ; Menu options inexplicably locked out on DVI input ; Faint “comb” effect up close

Summary: If you really want to enjoy movies on this monitor, you need to do two things. First of all, you should leave upscaling SD content to specialist software or an external device. Secondly, you need to turn the brightness down as much as you can so you...

Conclusion: The LG Flatron D2342 is a great monitor for office work, but is also perfect for enjoying a Blu-ray 3D. But it's only fun if you're on your own, because the viewing angles are so narrow that anybody sitting next to you won't be able to see in 3D.

Pro : Not much crosstalk if you're in the right place ; Affordable for a 3D display ; Lightweight glasses

Cons : Colours aren't accurate ; Below average contrast ; Not responsive enough for gaming ; Viewing angles are tight for 3D

Summary: Few will contend the fact that the era of 3D technology is well underway. 3D screenings are slowly outnumbering 2D ones in cinemas, and virtually all recent Hollywood blockbusters are shot with 3D cameras. The world with an extra dimension, whether on...

Summary: LG brings its low-cost Cinema 3D technology and disposable 3D glasses to the world of PC monitors with the 23-inch D2342P. The result is a sharp, all-purpose display that offers comfortable stereoscopic gaming and movie watching -- so long as you keep...

Conclusion: We're glad to see LG's low-cost, easy on the eye Cinema 3D migrate to the PC monitor market. Freedom from cumbersome, flickering Active Shutter glances is a boon for 3D PC gamers. Just bear in mind the general tightness of its stereoscopic sweetspot --...

Pro : Flicker-free 3D ; Comfortable, inexpensive glasses ; Decent general purpose and gaming PC monitor

Cons : Narrow 3D sweet spot ; Limited black level ; Low motion resolution
