Summary: Dual-core processors are so last year, don't you think? However, there isn't anything wrong with that since the advancement of quad-core silicon is now paving the way for dual-core chips to invade the mid-range market. Take the Samsung Galaxy S...

Conclusion: Overall, the Samsung Galaxy S Advance has absolutely no major drawbacks, which makes it a splendid mid-range Android device. We are more than content with its design, the hardware has no troubles handling every day tasks with ease, and the in-call...

Summary: The Samsung Galaxy S Advance is a souped-up version of the Galaxy S that looks like a smaller S2 but packs a curved Super AMOLED screen. Its specs won't blow your socks off, but if the price is right, this could prove to be a capable Android smart phone.

Pro : 4-inch Super AMOLED screen ; Feels slick ; Classy design

Cons : No Ice Cream Sandwich

Summary: The latest addition to Samsung's Galaxy range launches under the guise of the Galaxy S Advance. It does just as its name suggests too, as it's an "advanced" model of the original Galaxy S.

Conclusion: It may be billed as a mid-range smartphone, but the Galaxy S Advance will arrive packing a powerful 1GHz dual-core processor, improving on the single-core effort of its last-gen sibling. This will provide the power behind the phone's impressive 4-inch...

Summary: A few weeks ago, I opened the box of a new Samsung Galaxy S Wifi 5.0 media player. Samsung's Android-powered answer to the iPod touch, the MID took its time in getting to the US. However, it is finally here, I have had a chance to use the it for a...

Conclusion: The Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 5.0 was really a mixed bag for me. I liked the large screen for media, the software customization making it a media player, the format support, the dual cameras, the awesome Netflix support, and the great speakers. Of course,...

Description
Samsung Galaxy S GT 19000

Global Description

The Samsung Galaxy S GT 19000 is one of the best value smartphones available at present. With a massive 4” Hyper Definition Super AMOLED screen the Samsung Galaxy S is perfect for people who enjoy watching videos and viewing their pictures on their mobile phone.

The Super AMOLED screen has pushed the boundaries on picture quality and the Samsung Galaxy S GT provides the best display quality available with sharp, crisp pictures and videos.

The advanced AMOLED technology has also allowed for a super-slim build and at 9.9mm deep it is one of the thinnest smartphones on offer, weighing only 118gs so it will also fit nicely in your pocket.

The Samsung Galaxy S uses Google's Android 2.1 operating system and with a powerful 1GHz processor it excels in functioning efficiently with a quick response touchscreen and fast flicking between apps.

The Android Marketplace offers over 50,000 apps for download and with 8GB or 16GB memory to choose from you can download a fair few of those without worrying about running out of space.

After the disappointing bada-powered Wave Samsung have clubbed together and produced a smartphone that can rival its competitors with one of the cheaper price tags. And, with the Samsung Galaxy S GT 19000's superb specification, you definitely get value for your money.

Features/ Characteristics

The defining feature of the Samsung Galaxy S is the pioneering Super AMOLED screen which offers 20% extra brightness and 80% less sunlight reflection - and all with the added bonus of 20% more battery life than traditional AMOLED devices.

This has been optimized with a hefty four inch screen, which employs touch sensors in the display as opposed to layering over the top, with 480x800 pixels and 16 million colours. And fitting with its impressive display the Samsung Galaxy S has a built-in 5 Mega-pixel camera with auto-focus and touch-focus so you can capture some good quality photos. It also has a few more nifty capabilities such as face recognition, anti-shake and blink detection, as well.

Sharing of captured content is quick and easy and uploading pictures to your social networking sites is a doddle with videos captured in 1280x720-pixel resolution. Video playback is where the Samsung Galaxy S shines though and trailing through YouTube videos offers you an exceptional quality playback. The Samsung Galaxy S GT 19000 also includes a front-facing VGA camera to maximise your video calls and conferencing experience.

The touchscreen on the handset is easy to use and the device's software is reactive to the most sensitive of touches. Powered by a 1GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird processor and with 512MB of RAM you will find interchanging between applications incredibly smooth and the Samsung Galaxy S GT 19000's power also provides you a speedy internet experience.

And these powerful capabilities are all provided with the added bonus of a battery life twice as long as that offered by most other android phones. You won't have to worry about your phone constantly running out of life with around 576 hours on standby, and if you steer clear of overuse of the most powerful applications your phone battery should last a few days.

The Samsung Galaxy S GT 19000 has a similar look to the iPhone design but offers an extra 7mm in length and is a wee bit lighter. You can purchase either 8GB or 16GB phones, but if this isn't enough memory for you then the Samsung Galaxy S has the capability for a 32GB MicroSD card upload.

The device is pre-loaded with a host of applications that you will come in handy when you get to know your Galaxy S phone such as Google Maps and Gmail. You can stay connected with your friends through easy-access to your social networking sites and can access the Android Marketplace to choose from the multitude of varying downloadable applications.

The device also uses Samsung's brand new Swype technology for even faster typing.  As opposed to the tapping of keys you simply drag your finger from letter to letter on the on-screen keyboard and the predictive software does the rest which is currently exclusive to Samsung.

You can also personalise the home screen so, as you get to know your Samsung Galaxy S GT 19000, you can add to the four permanent icons of phone, contacts, messaging and application, for quick access to your favoured and most-used features.
