I purchased the LG Optimus 2X just about a month ago. I had read reviews about some minor issues with the handset but I knew a software update had just been released. I decided to take the plunge and purchased the phone.

I purchased a LG Optimus 2x last month and was i suprised or what..Snappy Android interface, Premium feel, Good weight, amazing camera, the first 1080p mobile camera on the market, with this model LG has exceeded expectations, the snappy dual core processor, the Nvidia Tegra graphics chip.

The Optimus 2X is an otherwise decent phone, but I have a few major pet peeves. Before I get to that, I should say that I very much like the durable design and robustness. I commend LG for choosing to protect the screen with Gorilla Glass.

Summary: LG P-990 comes with great looks and applications, howvever, falls down when it comes to battery backup.

Summary: It's officially the world's first dual-core smartphone but more crucially, is it the best?

    • Superb build quality, Packed with hardware features, Super fast dual-core processor
    • Only runs Android 2.2, No camera shutter button, Button layout could be better

Summary: The LG Optimus 2X is the fastest, smoothest Android smart phone yet, but you'll have to overlook its slightly clunky appearance.

Short extract: The LG Optimus 2X is the fastest, smoothest Android smart phone yet, but you'll have to overlook its slightly clunky appearance.

Conclusion: The LG Optimus 2X definitely has the power to please, thanks to its dual-core processor, which really revs up apps and user-interface transitions. We don't lust after it, though, because of its '80s appearance and haphazard widget and icon designs.

    • Insanely fast, Flash runs very smoothly, Slick scrolling and zooming, Packed with Android features, Tonnes of available apps
    • Chrome-trimmed case is a tad '80s, User interface could be more attractive, Some widgets are flaky

Summary: Any big name player could have thrown these hardcore specs together. It just so happens LG did first.

Short extract: The LG Optimus 2X invites you to go twice as fast as any Android phone before it, thanks to its dual core 1GHz processor humming away inside. If only LG had read the memo about hardware not being the only metric that counts these days.

Conclusion: LG’s relying on the hardware alone with the LG Optimus 2X, and it does amount to an impressive phone, so long as you take the time to remove LG’s bloatware. But with equally ripped Android phones with an augmented Android experience out of the box just around the corner (Hello HTC Sensation ), it’s...

    • Full HD camcorder, HDMI, dual core power
    • Android 2.2 skin is behind the curve

Short extract: A super star of a mobile phone is about the hit the market with a bang in the first quarter of 2011. It is LG Optimus 2X , which is touted as the first handset to include the dual core technology with the host of various attractive features.

Conclusion: Memory is one of the most vital features for any mobile phone, especially for the smart phones. Optimus 2X features enough internal memory to load practically unlimited entries and fields of phonebook and call records. However, the memory can be externally increased by using the microSD™ card.
