      4 out of 10

Summary: Beautifully presented in Asus's signature black coffer, the VX6 is all dramatic angles and chrome inserts as it tries to bring the feel of Lamborghini design to what's essentially a high-end netbook. But is it a luxury sports car or a tricked out go-kart?

Conclusion: An expensive netbook, with innovative (if uncomfortable) design stylings

Pro : Powerful netbook, with a high quality screen and good sound

Cons : Netbook level performance, lack of GPU acceleration

Summary: Like I've told you a couple of days ago, I have the Asus Lamborghini VX6 on my desk right now. This is mainly a dressed up version of the Asus 1215N I've tested a couple of weeks ago, so I did not p...

Conclusion: So, is the Asus VX6 Lamborghini worth the fuss? Well, that’s for you to decide. I can say that it is fast for a mini laptop and looks great. Pricing is high, but that's the case with all limited editions and branded devices, like this one.

Pro : good specs and performances ; excellent design and build quality ; that Automobili Lamborghini Logo on the hood looks amazing ; decent keyboard and trackpad ; top connectivity: Wi-Fi N, Bluetooth 3.0, USB 3.0 ; great sound quality for those...

Cons : battery life is only around 4 hours, poorer than on the 1215N with the same battery and specs ; expensive

Summary: Fast and furious 12.1 inch notebook

Conclusion: The Asus EeePC Lamborghini VX6 is a 12.1in netbook you'd be pleased to use, and the only drawback, for some, may be the wrong logo on the lid.

Description
Asus Eee PC VX6 Lamborghini

Global Description

The Asus Eee PC VX6 Lamborghini may not fulfil the dreams of every boy who had a poster of a supercar on their wall, but it's a close as most of us will get without spending several hundred thousand pounds. Inspired by the Murcielago LP640 Roadster this stylish netbook has a Lambo-style shell with a brand badge on the lid, comes in glossy black or white, has a grille on the lid's base and even makes a loud revving noise when it starts up.

Gimmicks aside the laptop is an upgraded version of the Eee PC 1215N. The dual-core Intel Atom D525 1.8GHz processor and 12.1-inch 1,366x768 pixel display means like its' four-wheeled cousin the VX6 Lamborghini attempts to mix with the big boys. 250GB of storage is enough for your music and photo collections, which you can browse for up to six hours with having to fill up the tank courtesy of the six-cell lithium-ion battery.

This does all come at a price, weighing 1.5kg and measuring 297 x 204 x 28.7mm, which is more than most of its competition. Furthermore it is a couple of hundred pounds more expensive than some smaller models.

However the VX6 is close to the performance of some larger models and is still portable enough to take to coffee shops and lectures and with Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit as standard you'll feel at the forefront of the tech rush.

Features/Characteristics

Its designers clearly wanted to pack as much as possible into the Asus Eee PC VX6 Lamborghini, so there is plenty going on under the bonnet to allow it to perform better than most of the competition. Firstly the NVIDIA ION 2 graphics with Optimus technology is better than you get on most notebooks, and it looks extra impressive on the Asus Eee's sizeable screen. In addition to the competitive storage and processor there is also 2GB of RAM to back it all up.

If you're looking for a netbook with a wide range of plug-ins then the VX6 will be right up your street. In addition to three USB ports there is Ethernet, 3.5mm sockets for headphones and a microphone, a multi-format card reader plus VAGA and HDI outputs. And if that isn't enough there is a 1.3 Megapixel webcam built in above the screen for conferencing in and out of the office. But despite all that hardware there are some limitations. Although it is a bit chunky like a laptop, it does not quite match their performance when it comes to more daunting tasks. For example, if you're a big gamer then it might seem a bit more like a mid-range Renault than a 200mph Lambo at times. However you can still have fun with it. The superb Bang & Olufsen stereo speakers and SRS premium surround sound delivers high quality audio and film fans will love the 1080p HD video playback.

Surprisingly among our favourite features is the keyboard and touchpad. By making the VX6 slightly larger than most netbooks the designers created a keyboard that is easy to use and has big enough keys to ensure you won't be making too many typos. It also slopes towards you because of the battery pack's location. Meanwhile the touchpad looks as smooth and shiny as a brand new Murcielago thanks to its' glossy finish. But it's not all about the looks, as the pad is slick, responsive and has solid click buttons which we like, and the rubberised palm rests make it comfortable to use for hours on end.

Finally, you'll want to be sure you're buying a sturdy machine that will pass any crash test, and the Asus Eee PC VX6 Lamborghini does not disappoint. The thick casing may make it slightly heavy, but it does mean there are no weak points and can withstand reasonable impacts without causing damage. We know you'll be taking good care of your new Asus Eee PC VX6 Lamborghini but it's reassuring to know it's a tough little fella.
