Good all round performer in a nice compact body. Very pleased with this purchase and quality of the photographs are excellent.

Drains the battery very quickly compared with my other Sony SLR's using the bigger FM500H battery.

    Conclusion: If you've considered owning a digital SLR principally for shooting video, then the Sony Alpha A55 offers a viable alternative to the Canon EOS range, and is rather easier to get to grips with.
