Good Points
Lovely metal build, great automation, good manual controls, fast and accurate focus with the 14mm lens, ultra small and light (compared with DSLR), great image quality at low ISO, pin sharp pictures with beautiful colour and contrast - I use raw and lightroom. I have now sold my DSLR outfit as this is as good, but cheaper, smaller, and lighter.
Bad Points
Battery life nowhere near as good as DSLR, spare battery is very expensive.

Summary: Panasonic's second-generation GF-series compact/DSLR hybrid is smaller, lighter and cheaper

Pro : Cheaper than its predecessor ; Smaller and lighter ; Able alternative to a DSLR

    Cons : Small-ish handgrip ; No in-body anti shake ; Smaller controls

    • dcresource.com

      0 out of 10

Summary: (priced from $499) is a compact interchangeable lens camera that uses the Micro Four Thirds standard. It's the follow-up to the popular DMC-GF1 (a camera I own myself), offering a smaller body, touchscreen LCD, faster performance, Full HD movie...

Conclusion: In conclusion, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF2 is a good choice for those looking for an interchangeable lens camera (though I'd pass on the 14 mm lens). It offers very good photo quality, an easy-to-use interface, Full HD movie recording -- all in a body...

Pro : Very good photo quality (though see issues below) ; Compact and well-built rangefinder-style body ; 3-inch touchscreen LCD with 460,000 pixels, good outdoor visibility ; Well-implemented touch features include touch AF / touch shutter / customizable...

Cons : Tends to underexpose a little; highlight clipping can be an issue ; Redeye a problem; no removal tool in playback mode ; Strong vignetting and some corner blurring on F2.5, 14 mm kit lens ; Lots of features removed from GF1, including a physical mode...

      6 out of 10

Summary: More than any device in recent memory, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF2 is a showpiece for the benefits and drawbacks of a touchscreen interface. Although the camera's touchscreen UI introduces a few groundbreaking features to the compact...

Conclusion: The Lumix GF2 is an enticingly compact interchangeable-lens camera, but its touchscreen interface is an inefficient way to access some important controls.

Pro : Fast autofocus ; Touch-focus controls for video and stills ; Very small for an interchangeable-lens camera

Cons : Underexposed images in Auto mode ; Touchscreen is ineffective for some controls
