People buy equipment that they clearly do not understand and often make a right hash of movie making as a result, it's the same when people then write reviews about a superb piece of kit. And talking about superb, this camcorder ticks all the boxes..

Avoid Samsung branded camcorders at all cost, they just can't match up to the quality of panasonic, canon, sony and JVC. I've owned several HD camcorders, and to be honest most samsung HD camcorders are worse than leading brand SD camcorders.

I took this newly purchased camcorder to a Tangerine Dream concert in Manchester. Normally TD videos their concerts for DVD release. On this occasion no cameras, so, the lighting was subdued with many low lit sequences.

After never owning a video cam before, learning to operate the Samsung H200 could not have been easier. Simply took it out of the box, charged the battery, point and shot. Camera is small and lightweight and very easy to use. extremely happy with my purchase.

This perhaps only (there can be a few?) fullHD consumer camcorder which has got slow motion. This is absolute perfect for technique training in sport. Touch screen is easy to see all the slow motions in picture by picture. This product is just perfect for me!

Short extract: Selling camcorders is a tough old business right now. With smartphones, DSLRs and compacts all now offering HD video modes, the traditional barrel-shaped video shooter is under threat. So what can Samsung's budget H200 offer that an equivalent point-and-shoot camera can't?
Conclusion: Superb image stabilisation, a powerful zoom and good video quality combine to make a top-value camcorder
