BUYERS BEWARE. After the initial joy of receiving our new Beko543FS fridge-freezer, it broke down after just 6 months and Empire Direct have so far tried every trick going to avoid helping us out. First they denied liability, sending us to Beko. It wasn't until we quoted the Sale of Goods Act to them that they agreed they were responsible! Even though an engineer has inspected it and said that a repair would probably break-down again, Empire Direct insist that we must have a repair. We have written to them and again quoted the Act and have even got Trading Standards and our credit card company onto them. But no, they keep smoke-screening. Since we demanded our rights to a replacement (no response) or a refund (no response), they have, without telling us, sent a replacement part out! But instead of sending it to the engineer, they sent it to our house!!! As we are about to take legal action I cannot say much more, but I would definitely think twice, twice and twice again before considering this outfit. Every one of their staff has been the same - they are trained to perfection. They have ignored our letter and are hoping we will go away. Think again.
