I was silly enough to have bought a Advent laptop from the Staines pcw. In short, I was absolutely stupid to have believed a single word they said. It is a truly awful machine, comes with loads of bundled software that makes it run sooo slow! Including, pictures and logs from previous users!! (probably the bored staff who can't be bothered to talk to potential customers!)
The customer service is a non-existent joke and they genuinely seem suprised that you have believed what you have been told when they don't deliver e.g. You'll have to talk to the manager, who passes you to someone else who, in turn, passes you to someone else who tells you you'll need to talk to the manager!!! (who is simply rude and incapable of doing anything other than taking your phone number and NOT calling you! Of course, he is unavailable on the phone and when you make a return visit, to chase him up,you have to start all over again because the idiot can't remember anything until you 'prove' it by quoting him and citing dates, times etc - then he just crumbles and blames 'being busy' grrr) As for the expensive telephone support, set aside at least 2 hours to find out you'll need to call back or it's a microsoft problem! (Oh yes, windows is known to be soo utterly unreliable it's why it works for 100's of millions of people and pcw make a selling point of having it on the pc's)
I could go on but here's the message if you're thinking of buying a pc or laptop from pcw DON'T! Avoid the pain and buy it from a complete stranger over the net - you cannot possibly have more pain!
If you go to pcw voluntarily you ARE stupid, there are NO excuses whatsoever. AVOID the place like the plague. Have a nice christmas and don't ruin it by getting anything from pcw that may require any subsequent assistance.
