PC World

Going to PC World in the first place may have been my mistake; they are the equivalent for computing as MacDonald's is for food. I ordered a HP computer. I left the store to await delivery (to the store, I could pick it up myself saving a few £££). 10 days was the approx wait. Having heard nothing on the 9th day I impatiently called to check. Unfortunately 'It is on the way to the store and should be here tomorrow' was what the person told me on the phone. 19 days further and many phone calls later the goods had still not arrived. I was told that the product now, was not in stock in any store. It should arrive in the next few days to be dispatched from the warehouse. Slightly agitated I requested to be called with any further news. No call came and days passed. I called back. I got no satisfactory answers. I lost my temper and was finally told that the product had been 'discontinued' from HP and was no longer available. Slightly shocked at this huge contradiction I asked 'how on earth did they intend to supply me the goods' and 'why was I not told in the first place?' I had paid for something I hadn't received was not going to receive and I wouldn't have been told unless I called and hassled them. I went back to the store, questioned the manager he didn't have any answers just curt responses. I was offered to my baffled amusement the display one! I had spent a lot of time researching and was happy with my decision to purchase this PC, I didn't want to start that tedious process again and I told the manager I would take but expected compensation for the phone calls, time wasted and general inconvenience. The keyboard was also slightly damaged. £60 was the reduction! I argued that this wasn't adequate enough, he stood firm. I challenged him by saying 'fine I'll have a refund' he said 'fine' back and finally I buckled and took the beastly thing with me rather peeved vowing never to go to PC World ever again.
