I am writing so that customers thinking of placing orders before Christmas should be aware that although it states that delivery will be free, each order I have placed (Tassimo coffee maker and Sanyo Hi Fi)states that it will not be delivered till 4 Jan 06. However, if I tick to pay postage it will be delivered within 2/3 days. So that is what I have had to do.

I had a pre-order for my Xbox 360 since October, so it should have been delivered to me before Christmas, but now Amazon are telling me that it'll be February of next year! I've used Amazon dozens of times and I'm happy to report that I find their website a joy to use and their customer service excellent; so much so that I will sometimes order an item from them, even if they don't have the cheapest price (although their prices are usually very competitive!) I orderd an ipod video and when i did it said 1-2 weeks delivery. Fine I thought. I have now waited 3 weeks only to get an e-mail that i have to wait another 2 weeks! Its simply not good enough! I tried to call them or e-mail but its nigh on impossible to get the address or numbber. I know they are big, but if they go on like this, no one will buy from them. Read Full Review »

they are imnpossible to contact. I have been receiving e mails from them about an order that has been delayed and I am trying to cancel it. When i go to their site they dont recognize my account and say I have no orders in process. there is no way to send them an e mail. it is a catch 22. Read Full Review »

Have ordered masses of stuff from Amazon, and they are extremely reliable, efficient and thorough. On the few occasions when returns required, all were handled rapidly, professionally, and without quibble. They really set the standard for online shopping experience. Read Full Review »

Amazon are always reliable, offer a vast range of products and good delivery time / order feedback. However their returns policy is abysmal. After posting the item back, they don't confirm that it has been received and being processed, and only actually refund you at the end of the month - so you could be waiting 4 weeks. I have placed at least 20 orders with Amazon and have rarely had any problems. Some items have on the rare occasion been delayed but their customer service is good and they will often ensure they make up for any displeasure felt by the customer.
