Debenhams Direct is a slur on the good name of the Debenhams brand.

Whilst their website is rather poor, that is forgiveable. However their after sales services is dire - it took me 2 months to get a full refund on goods they never sent me - and it seems rather hit and miss whether the goods on the store are actually available to buy. There doesn't appear to be a stock level system at all, so in sales it is possible to order stuff that sold out hours ago.

Once this occurs, you get trapped in Debenhams Direct letter through the post telling you what is going on. Usually this consists of a letter saying that the item is out of stock, followed a day later by a letter saying the item will be sent direct from the manufacturer. Needless to say it is rather rare to get the item at all. Why they (1) can't send an email, and (2) take a week to work out their stock levels after you place your order is yet another poor showing.

If they cancel part of your order, they will inform you of this after they've shipped the rest of the order, thus not giving you a chance to review your order in view of the situation. In addition, they will charge postage if they cancel part of your order and bring the total value under the postage rate - they also will not tell you this, you will only find it out if you tally up the debits and credits to your account.

This company is the worst retail company I have ever had to deal with on the internet in the 10 years I have been online.
