One of my worst ever internet buying

One of my worst ever internet buying experiences and I do buy a lot from internet. Ordered 2 mobile phones at the same time, one being for my son's birthday with 2 weeks to spare before the birthday and items both registering in stock and deliverable within a few days. After 1 week with no email and no online order status update, my wife phoned up to get info, but was refused any info on the basis that she was not the ordering party, in spite of the fact that the credit card used to buy the phones is in our joint names. What's that all about?! One week later, a day before the birthday, was the first time I was back in the UK and able to call them myself. The customer services person then picked up for the first time that there was a stock problem and it could still be days or even weeks before the order could be delivered. The stock problem was with the second phone and even though the birthday phone was in stock and ready to send, noone had bothered to pick up the fact that it could have been sent or to notify us that there was a stock problem with the other. Shocking for a non third world company in the 21st century! Order was cancelled and I won't do business with them again, on internet or high street.
