I purchased a Oki C8800n unit (25/09/07)

I purchased a Oki C8800n unit (25/09/07) and late in the day too i.e. 5:00pm from PRINTERLAND (free delivery) and it arrived the next day !!

Had a small problem getting it to work via the parallel port but have it working fine via USB. Apparently I need a NEW parallel cable if I want it to operate that way but I'll stick with USB now.

The help given by PRINTERLAND was and is fantastic. Prompt service and help.

They appear only literally to be a couple of ££'s more pricey than opposition but when you take into account the FREE prompt delivery and o/a service I think I would have happily paid a tad more if I knew this beforehand.

The printer itself is everything I wanted it to be, fast, small footprint and with lots of good software and good help from the manufacturer too.

My sister worked for OKI in their UK head office and I once visited her there. Great company to work for and they had good working environment with happy workers it appeared. Seems to me that this all floats down to the product and suppliers (well, PRINTERLAND in this case).

I work within Architecture and it is so important to have a unit such as this with the features you'll really appreciate. I use the PCL driver with great results even though OKI recommend using the Postscript Driver (PS) for the graphical work I do. Seems to me that PS is really not required.

Oh, and I use VISTA so I can vouch for the drivers !!!

I've never written a review before so excuse my over exuberant dribble on the companies OKI and PRINTERLAND but I hope this helps anyone else bothering to read this make a good product and supplier choice.
