I purchased a 100% cotton tunic for my husband from Marks and Spencer. He wore it for the first time to a business meeting under a new Van Huesen shirt. While retiring for the night and changing to his night clothes, he noticed to his dismay after taking off the tunic that the van huesen was completely covered in lint. I tried to claim a refund, however, customer service declined stating that i must first launder the garment. The label did not state that the garment must first be laundered before wearing, nor did it state that shedding would most likely occur. Nor did the label state that after the first wash, the softness of the material would disappear and the shedding and lint remain.
I emailed the CEO, Mr Stuart Rose three times without receiving even a courtesy mail response.
I will never shop M&S again, no matter what their prices are.
