First of all, I just want to say that this is my first review on a forum such as this, prompted only by the actions of the so-called retailer Datakits.co.uk.

I only wish I d read the reams and reams of horror stories assocated with this firm. There s no way I would have bought anything from them. The price they were offerring for what I wanted was circa £40 cheaper than elsewhere - which really was too good to be true.

All I can say now is - CAVEAT EMPTOR - BUYER BEWARE.

My scenario seems like a classic Datakits move - so I ll recount it in the hopes that at least someone will avoid buying from them.

First - I ordered a product - an ipod speaker system, the website said there were 3 in stock. That was 15th May.
The website updated saying that my order would be dispatched in two days. All good so far.
Paymeny taken from my credit card for full amount. (£140+)
18th May, I received an email saying my order had been dispatched. Excellent - quick turnaround.
23rd May. Nothing had arrived. So i emailed datakits. Got automated reply saying they would follow up with delivery company straight away.
25th May I receive an unconnected email offerring me free postage on subsequent orders - As if!!
28th May I emailed both sales and complaints departments asking to know the whereabouts of goods and confirm a delivery time, by midday following day or I would cancel my order and demand a refund. Received 2 automated replies.
30th May Still nothing from Datakits, no goods, nothing other than automated emails. Contacted credit card company and started funds recovery process. Emailed Datakits requesting a refund.

This company has absolutely no regard for their customers. They are more than happy to sit back and ignore queries and complaints, customer service is an alien concept to them.

I urge to NEVER use this company. Tell everyone you know never to use them.
I will be passing all the relevant data to Portsmouth Trading standards in the hope that this will be the straw that breaks the camels back.
