I ordered from Tesco Extra online a Panasonic Microwave on 1 October 2005; on the order confirmation it stated that the delivery date was the same day. I called to enquire and confirmed by their customer agent that it takes 3-7 days for delivery. They charged my account for the full amount on the 3 October. After 7 working days, there was no sign of delivery. I called customers enquiry line again, and was told by an 'un-welcoming' agent that I needed to wait for up to 21 days for the delivery, as 3-7 days was not guaranteed. Until 22 October 2005, the item was still outstanding, with no sign of delivery. I called the enquiry line, and was told that the item should have been despatched. Nevertheless, she said she had to re-order the item for me, and confirmed that it will arrive before 28 October 2005. On 24 October 2005, at about 1800 hours, a lady from Tesco Customer Services called me on my mobile, and left me with a phone number 0870 0844502. She said that was the number of the carrier and asked me to call to arrange for the delivery of the microwave. I called and that's the number for Parcel Force which put me on a hold forever. My effort was in vain until 2000 hours when the line was closed. I then call Tesco Customer Service and was being told to try again during office hours on the next day. At that moment, I was really upset and felt like being fool around, paying the price for nothing but hassle. I just wondered why don't they arrange the delivery with the carrier properly instead of asking their customer to do so without any reference being provided. I do a lot of shopping online. This is the first time I order electrical item from Tesco Extra online and come across the worst experience I have ever had for ordering online. As a Tesco customer for so many years, do I deserve that? Please ensure that you have a lot of time and patient before placing your order!!!!!!!!
