A nightmare with staff prepared to lie

A nightmare with staff prepared to lie and managers prepared top lie even more so.

I ordered a flat screen pc monitor from Digital Empire Online . I asked the sales assistant to recommend a flat screen tv to use a pc monitor, he told me all brands are similar and that i should have the Sony Bravia . During the conversation i asked did it come with an adjustable stand, the reply was yes.

When it arrived it had no stand so i phoned and sked for a replacement model. I was told by Jus (manager)and Dave that i did not ask for an adjustable stand and that Dave had made comprehensive notes of order none of which mentioned this adjustable stand, in short I WAS LYING .

I asked MBNA to call them and they spoke with them and it was agreed they would call me by 2pm to resolve the matter Unfortunatley they did not.

The following morning i called Jus the manager and he explained that all the sales assitants sit near to one another and none of them heard me mention the adjustable stand.

I asked if all the other assitants were not taking calls and just listened to others calls on a loud speaker, otherwise how would they have heard what i had asked for down the other end of the phone.

I was told i could send it back at my cost, and pay their delivery charges and a restocking fee of 15% of the items cost , in all around £100 to return the item.

I told Jus that he was lying and making tall stories and this was my second order after spending more than 2.5k with this firm. He simply told me he was within his rights.

I have no recourse and am left with a monitor i did not want , all i wanted was to be able to raise the screen to an adjustable viewing height because i suffer with neck problems.

It has shocked me how an manager of a company hwas prepared to lie to me and make up ridiculous tales of sales assistants listening in and having the memories of elephants to know one week ago, what customers on the other end of the phone have said .
