Dwell

I recently ordered a number of items

By Nash Cvedi (24/10/2008)

I recently ordered a number of items from the Dwell store in Angel and I am disappointed beyond words
Extending Dining Table (102312): List price £395
TV Unit (102318): List price £149
Dining Chairs (6 units of 104107): List price £414
bedside table (2 units of 104368): List Price £158
Walnut Storage Bed (104393): List Price £495
Corner Sofa Unit Oban(104329, 105064, 105068): List price £1275
Total+delivery(£30) = £2916

All except the sofa units and the bedside tables were to be delivered within 4 days and the rest by Nov 20.

So far 3 out of the four items were faulty e.g. Table top was massively scratched, TV unit legs screw threads were faulty and the bed was delivered with wrong brackets and piston for the slatted base. Even the replacement table delivered today was faulty and returned.. Quality control is non-existent at Dwell

After speaking with customer services at least 10 times in the last week (keywords: unresponsiveness, lame answers and total lack of respect for customers) they are sending replacement items one by one at random delivery times.

I asked them what are they going to do about all of is? They initially offered to waive the the £30 delivery charge (the audacity is mindboggling!!). I asked again, what was the reputational damage that would be caused by me sharing my experiences with you all out there worth to them and they came back saying that they would give me a total of £205 off the faulty items (less than 7% of my total order)

We ordered everything to match, so we are stuck with them and have to wait for the sofas now with a huge amount of trepidation. Assembly instructions are atrocious and components were missing from all of the packs.

The customer service reps have no authority to do anything for you - and supervisors wont do anything

Don't ever consider ordering furniture from this shop that believes that their reputation is worth exactly £205. I will update this post as I hear more from them
