Just to put in some balance, I quite like B&Q! Good availability of materials from warehouses, most things available to take away and great opening hours.

In the course of doing up our house were easilly over the £20k mark now, a large percentage with B&Q, although they will never know.

My thoughts are...you need to know what you want and need, the staff can never be knowledgeable on every product.

You need to only buy what you can take home there and then, delivery and centralised customer service is a joke, they are a shop, use them as a shop and you will be fine, just dont order anything!

As for fitting kitchens and bathrooms, you've seen the staff in the shop, do you want them in your house with a hammer and a drill?

Buy the materials and use a good reputable tradesman to do the fitting.

There is nowhere esle that covers as much as B&Q, if it's in your house you can buy it there, pretty much.

So in conclusion, not a bad shop.
