Don't buy at MFI, don't trust

Don't buy at MFI, don't trust the sales advisors and don't even thing about asking the store manager for help!!!

About 2 months ago my partner and I went to the MFI store to buy a wardrobe. As the property is a rented property, we made sure to ask the sales advisor if the wardrobe we wanted to buy was a stand-alone wardrobe as we are not allowed to make holes in the walls or fix any furniture to the wall. The sales advisor assured us that the wardrobe was a stand-alone and there was no need at all to fix it to the wall.

When we got the wardrobe delivered the first thing we notice was that there were more than one installation manual, and not knowing which one to follow we decided to go back to the store and ask them. At the store we were treated in a very patronising way and told that all people are able to follow your installation manual so we should as well. The manager also mentioned that we needed to fix the wardrobe we have bought to the wall for safety reasons. We tried to explain that we have asked the sales advisor when we made the purchase and we were told that that was not needed.

Obviously, the installation manual says that you need to fix the wardrobe to the wall, but you only get to see the manual when you get the delivery, when it is also too late to take it back or cancel the order. So you end up at the mercy of the sales advisor who does not know the products she is selling and would simply lie to get a sale done. As for the manager, we tried to explain our case and her answer was that it was not her problem that we live in a rented property, that she was not there at the moment of the sale and therefore it was our problem.
