I buy classical CD's online, and HMV give the worst service I have come across. On the plus side, their prices are very competitive, so I suppose you get what you pay for, because unless the availability is shown as 'usually despatched within 24 hours', you will probably be waiting weeks for delivery. I usually shun high street shops that have a net presence as they are not a match on internet only shops. I was very surprised with HMV. I ordered 9 DVDs in their 3 for £15 promotion with an extra 20% off promotion. I got 9 DVDs for £36! Excellent pricing indeed. Each DVD arrived separately within 3 days of order. HMV's prices are some of the best on the net and their sales are normally quite good.

However, their customer service is appalling. Twice in one week I have had to send CD's back because they sent the wrong ones out. Both were new releases that were released on Monday, however I did not receive these until Thursday. Now I've sent the CD's back I have not received any word from HMV... Read Full Review »

terrible company! I placed an order on Thursday October 12th, just after 8 in the morning, paid £5 extra for Royal Mail faster delivery, because of the implication of it being next day. I have had no problems at all with this store. I order reguarlary with them (mainly Cd's but also some DVD's) and whilst its not the quickest delivery its at worst average. But most importantly it is reliable which cannot be said for some of the other websites on which i have ordered Cd's. You should have no worries ordering from them. Read Full Review »
