HMV

walk into the store and noticed the deal I presume christmas stock of any 3 dvds promo and bought a three dvd top gear set as a present fantastic value at £17.99 compared to the new dvd thriller at £14.99 so just bought the three dvd set went to the till and they had a cd playing which I liked I asked who it was the guy (older chap around 35 ish brown hair)sorry cannot remember his name replied sash £9.99 bargain so I bought one of them as well this guy was on a role he recomended another couple of cds and the charley boardman long way round for £5 so bought them too. Great customer service and brilliant prices left very happy with my christmas pressie's sorted and a few quid lighter in the wallet so much so that I thought I may as well buy the thriller dvd Jeremy Clarksons new one £14.99 but called in at woolworths first for a paper its literally less tham 30 metres away from HMV and what do I find only the Thriller dvd for £9.90 a whole £5.09 difference in price for walking less than 30 metres my whole perception of the HMV pricing changed and I started comparing the rest of the prices. The service the guy gave was great and I was happy with my purchases but the pricing was now in doubt and i felt disappointed that they could be that far out on the price.HMV are no longer my first choice which they have been for the last couple of years I think they have taken their eye of the ball and concentrated on other things but number one rule in retail look after the customers they pay your wages without them you do not have a business to look after.
hope this helps everyone, staff some of them except the myspace posters are great the store looked clean and they had plenty of choice but not competitive on price on the only real thing I went in for in the first place. Try woolworths they maybe old school but will have the choice and are keener on price.
