I bought a SAMSUNG HD ready 32' LCD television from Currys and purchased the whateverhappens policy. As luck would have it, the television developed problems with the HDMI port and I could not view HD channels.
The TV was collected from my house and some 22 days later I had heard nothing from the Wednesbury repair centre. When I made several calls I was told all sorts of stories ranging from that the telly had only one pixel (whatever that means) to that a part had been ordered but the person who answered did not know what the problem was. Note: when the TV was collected, I had told the technician that the problem lay with the HD signals.
Eventually I managed to establish that vouchers were going to be sent out to me within 7-10 working days for me to purchase a new TV since the one I had sent in to be checked could not be repaired. I think I have been very shabbily treated because throughout the whole saga no one's bothered to contact me with an update or event to tell me that vouchers would be sent out. My question is: Is this the kind of 'service' whatneverhappens gives to customers? Another question is when was someone going to contact me to tell me that vouchers were going to be issued to me. Note: at all times when I called Wednesbury, I left my contact telephone number but nobody bothered to call me back.
