Review summary: Announced less than a year after its predecessor, the new entry-level Nikon D60 DSLR camera is virtually identical to the D40x model that it replaces. The D60 has the same external design, 10.2 megapixel sensor, ISO range of 100 to 3200, 3 point auto-focu

Verdict: Where the D40x was essentially a 10 megapixel version of the 6 megapixel D40, the new D60 is a very slightly improved version of the D40x. The D60 retains the same core competencies - 10 megapixels, 3 point AF, 3D Colour Matrix Metering II, 3fps burst mod

      Nikon D60 Digital Camera Review

      By Steve Morgenstern

Review summary: If you've ever seen the Nikon D40 (introduced in November 2006) or the Nikon D40x (March 2007), a glance at the D60 may remind you of a Talking Heads song - the size, shape, and overall design are same as it ever was, same as it ever was. Under the hood,

Pros: Compact size (for portability), Responsiveness, Dust removal system

Cons: Compact size (for those with big hands), Plastic construction, Incompatiblity with some Nikon lenses, Limited autofocus system

      Nikon D60

Review summary: The D60 isn't so different from the D40x. The main changes are the anti-dust system, the new Nikkor 18-55mm VR kit lens and eye-sensor. The pictures are great, and the picture modes and retouching are impressive. The handling remains a sore point.

      Nikon D60 Review

Review summary: Nikon D60 Review - Nikon owners, put down your scythes and pitchforks. The Nikon D60 isn't two cameras bolted together in a Frankenstein-esque way. It's a pure Nikon DSLR with an old Canon name badge. Matt Grayson investigates.

Pros: Takes the pain out of colour balancing, Easy installation, Easy to use, User can take control if need be, Excellent Noise results, Rangefinder brings fun to manual mode, Attractive screen graphics, Active D-Lighting from the D300, EXPEED processor, also f

Cons: No back button, Pressing cancel actually exits the program, Default settings are a lttle too high, Review stays on too long, Only three focus points

Verdict: Nikon are in a position where they have an almost biblical status with a group of followers that are so loyal, it borders on fanaticism. Nikon could, in fact, sit back on their laurels, soaking up the limelight and spit out camera after uninspiring camera
