  Pros: Relatively inexpensive. MP3/JPEG playback from recordable DVD. Support for bitstream audio output (HDMI). Decodes Dolby TrueHD. Online firmware updates.
  
  Cons: Sluggish disc load times.
  
  Verdict: The BD-P1400 isn't the fastest Blu-ray disc player you can buy, but it provides a pleasing viewing experience and good audio format support for a relatively low price.
