  Review summary: Despite some aggressive branding exercise recently (LG Prada mobile phone anyone?), as a consumer electronics conglomerate LG has found it difficult to shake off its budget image: one who delivers more "value-for-money" than actual quality.
  
  Pros: Very good Faroudja DCDi video and film deinterlacing, Accurate colour decoding without colour push
  
  Cons: Below average black level & compressed contrast ratio, No backlight control,
  
  Verdict: LG 42LF65 reinforces LG's reputation as a second-tier brand... for its price you can get a much better HDTV elsewhere.
