      Kodak i40

      By Ben Camm-Jones

Review summary: Offices with little desk space but heavy document scanning requirements find that most flatbed scanners are just too big. The i40 steers a different course.

Verdict: Kodak should have bundled more software than only ReadIris Pro, and we reckon the price is a little high, but the i40 is a good, solid performer that won't let you down. Judging by the build quality, it will last for years and years.

      Kodak i30 Scanner

      By M. David Stone

Review summary: Maximum Scan Area: Legal, Scanning Options: Reflective, Flatbed: No, Maximum Optical Resolution: 600 pixels, Mechan...

Pros: Fast, rated at 25 sheets per minute for simplex scanning. Includes Twain and ISIS drivers.

Cons: Strictly simplex scanning, with no provision for manual duplexing. Program bundle is limited. No help file or printed manual for Kodak's Capture software.

Verdict: The Kodak i30 scanner is fast, scanning more than 25 sheets per minute, and is the right size for a personal or small-office scanner, but the bundled software and documentation disappoint.
