SPORT, could you love a lacetti?

Perhaps we should have been prepared for the Lacetti, given that the Nubira that preceded it boasted a rather slinky shape and some very neat detailing. Despite that precursor, the Lacetti still caught many of us on the hop, unaccustomed as we were to a Daewoo that didn't look like a mish mash of other manufacturer's cast offs. With neat, well resolved styling and a simple value proposition, the Lacetti has quietly done very well, and picking up a low mileage used example is a great way to la...

1.6SX, game, cet and match?

"If you haven't driven a Daewoo since the Espero and Nexia era then the Lacetti 1.6SX is going to come as something of a shock" Daewoo are a manufacturer undergoing a radical corporate realignment. Not only have they been swallowed up by the General Motors empire in a much publicised move that will guarantee them financial security, but they must also cope with a changing automotive market. No longer is it enough to sell unsophisticated cars backed up by generous after sales packages. T...

It doesn't really campaign in the less powerful 'warm hatch' class either, populated mainly by younger unattached drivers unable to afford the insurance on powerful sporting hatchbac...

"The Lacetti offers a surprising amount of room for a 'compact' car" It must be slightly dispiriting for Daewoo that despite the millions they have spent fine tuning the quality control, the ride and handling and the ergonomics of their latest Lacetti model, when it comes down to it, many buyers base their purchasing decision on three key questions. Is it cheap? Does it look cheap? Will my friends laugh at me? Scoring a perfect yes/no/no on this trio has been beyond the ability of many ...
