Serving as the crossroads for all things hardcore, emo, ska, and pop-punk, Side One Dummy Records gives Epitaph a run for its money with ATTICUS:aDRAGGING THE LAKE II. At a time when most CDs can easily cost a twenty spot, SODR offers a killer business model to the music industry with a bargain basement-priced comp packed with previously unreleased songs by A-list names. Among the many rare goodies are Blink 182's ode to porn "Don't Tell Me That It's Over", Down By Law's mosh-pit friendly "Next to Go", and "Vacant Skies", a Sparta nugget packed with rumbling rhythms and multi-textured guitar parts. Old-school punk fans will be delighted to find cuts by the Mighty Mighty Bosstones (the anthemic "A Jackknife to a Swan"), the Dropkick Murphys (a bagpipe-infused "Fiels of Athenry"), and Rocket From The Crypt (the raucous "I'm Not Invisible"). Kids from the emo brigade will be thrilled to find Finch (a grinding "Worm of the Universe") and Taking Back Sunday (the aching "You're So Last Summer") getting their due as well. Other notable names making the cut include Jets to Brazil, Hot Water Music, the Alkaline Trio, and Box Car Racer.
