Go for comfort, don’t go for broke
First and foremost, men’s shoes should be comfortable. Why bother buying something you’re not going to wear that often because they pinch your toes or are too tight? With that said, buying men’s shoes online means that you can’t try them on. But many retailers have answered the call here with free deliver and returns. So if you’ve purchased something that isn’t what you expected, you can send them back with no catch.
With that said, there are a few tips to make sure that the men’s shoes you’re interested in can be broken in. The most forgiving material is leather. Leather costs more, but is definitely worth it as a good pair of leather shoes can last you for years. They will take some breaking in before they’re nice and comfy. To speed up the breaking-in process, invest in a shoe stretcher. Steam the shoes first over a pot steaming water, make sure the inside and outside of the shoe gets nice and hot, then insert the shoe stretcher overnight. Repeat the process with every new adjustment.
Canvas shoes are also very forgiving when it comes to fit. Converse and Vans are favourite brands and come in many styles and colours, plus they aren’t too expensive.
